German utility orders runners for 80-MW Wendefurth pumped-storage

Vattenfall Europe Generation AG has awarded a contract for supply of two spare turbine runners for the 80-MW Wendefurth pumped-storage project in Germany’s Saxony-Anhalt State.

Vattenfall named Stellba Hydro GmbH &Co. KG of Heidenheim, Germany, to supply the equipment.

Work is to include engineering, design, manufacturing, and supply of two spare runners suitable for the 40-MW turbine-generators in the Wendefurth plant.
