Indian firm to boost capacity of developing hydroelectric project

Power company Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam, Ltd. has decided to upgrade the generating capacity of a hydro project it is developing, the company reported.

The company reported that it will boost the capacity of its Dhaula Sidh project from 40 MW to 66 MW.

The project, a joint venture with the Himachal Pradesh state government, will be located on the Beas River in Himachal Pradesh and will feature a 51-meter-high dam.

The project is likely to be commissioned by 2014.
