Rwanda seeks bids to refurbish three small projects

Rwanda national utility Electrogaz seeks bids for rehabilitation of three small hydroelectric projects totaling 15 MW. Bids are due February 15, 2008.

With funding from the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa, Electrogaz seeks international bids for refurbishment of the 12-MW Mukungwa, 1.8-MW Gihira, and 1.2-MW Gisenyi projects.

Work includes rehabilitation of:
o Hydro-mechanical equipment including turbines, valves, trashracks and cleaning machines, servomotors, regulators, and piping;
o Electro-mechanical equipment including generators and components, exciters, brakes, and cooling systems;
o Electrical equipment including circuit breakers, transformers, distribution systems, protection and metering systems, insulators, and lightning protection; and
o Civil works including dams, diversions, conduits, and buildings.

Tender documents may be obtained from the address below, beginning December 16, for 200 euros (US$296) to Account No. 120.00.61, under “NTB Produits et Ventes Divers,” at the Banque Nationale du Rwanda. The documents will be sent by mail to foreign companies upon receipt of proof of payment.
