Swedish utility to refurbish 110-MW Torpshammar

Swedish utility Vattenfall AB Vattenkraft plans to seek bids for refurbishment of equipment at the 110-MW Torpshammar hydroelectric project on the Giman River.

Vattenfall issued an advance notice that it will seek proposals to replace or renovate parts of turbines and generators of Units G1 and G2, as well as mechanical equipment for gates, and electrical equipment and controls.

The utility said it plans to start the tendering process in October. The work would begin in March 2008, with completion in 2009.
