Tajikistan seeks excitation refurbishment for 600-MW Baipaza

Tajikistan utility Barki Tajik seeks bids for rehabilitation of excitation and temperature monitoring systems for the 600-MW Baipaza hydroelectric project. Bids are due October 10.

The Asian Development Bank approved a loan to Tajikistan for a regional power transmission interconnection project that includes the hydropower project work. (HNN 12/4/06) The program is to upgrade hydropower generation in Tajikistan and to build a transmission system to deliver the additional hydropower to neighboring Afghanistan.

The work at Baipaza previously was estimated to cost US$1.9 million. (HNN 6/27/07)

Bid documents in English may be obtained from the address below for US$400 in cash or bank transfer to Open Joint Stock Holding Company Barki Tajik. Courier delivery costs an additional US$100.

A pre-bid meeting is scheduled September 11 at Barki Tajik PMU, Kakarohova St. 39A, Dushanbe, Tajikistan. A site visit is to be organized the following day.
