UPDATE – Swedish utility seeks refurbishment of 110-MW Torpshammar

Swedish utility Vattenfall AB Vattenkraft invites applications for pre-qualification to refurbish equipment at the 110-MW Torpshammar hydroelectric project on the Giman River. Responses are due September 14.

Vattenfall previously issued an advance notice that it would seek proposals to replace or renovate parts of turbines and generators of Units G1 and G2, as well as mechanical equipment for gates, and electrical equipment and controls. (HNN 8/23/07) The work is to begin in March 2008, with completion in 2009.

The utility said it plans to compile a shortlist of one to six firms that will be invited to submit bids.
