International renewable energy group to make policy statement in Copenhagen

The International Renewable Energy Alliance will release a policy statement for renewables during the climate change summit in Copenhagen, a press release from the alliance states.

The policy to be announced is: “Scaling-Up for a Renewable Future; Reforming Existing Mechanisms and Shaping New Approaches Post 2012.”

The policy statement builds on proposed approaches of the post-2012 framework, making practical recommendations to accelerate the transition to a low-carbon, renewable and sustainable future, the alliance said.

The International Renewable Energy Alliance is a partnership of the international organizations that represent a range of renewable energy technologies. The International Hydropower Association is a part of the alliance.

The press conference is scheduled for 9:30a.m. Dec. 16 in the Asger Jorn Room, Hall H, Bella Center, Copenhagen.
