Now open: The HYDROVISION International 2022 call for abstracts and speakers

HYDROVISION International

We have opened up our call for abstracts and call for speakers for HYDROVISION International 2021, and this is your chance to contribute your knowledge and expertise to this world’s largest hydro industry event.

HYDROVISION International — which typically attracts more than 3,000 colleagues in the hydro and dams industries from about 50 countries — was originally scheduled to be held in September 2021 in Spokane, Wash., but was recently postponed to July 12 to 14 in Denver, Colo., U.S.

Note: If you submitted a presentation that was chosen to be delivered in Spokane, please resubmit your abstract or your name as a speaker so we can ensure it will be included. We will do our best to pick up as many of these valuable presentations as possible, and that is more likely to happen if we have them available for the Conference Planning Committee to consider when they meet.

Additionally, there will be ample opportunity for new content to be added for 2022, particularly presenters who can offer information on new hot topics or provide a regional perspective.

Abstracts for technical papers for HYDROVISION International 2022 will be accepted in eight broad categories: civil works and dam safety, energy storage, equipment and technology, market trends and asset strategies, new development, operations and maintenance, policies and regulations, and water and environment.

All abstract submissions will be evaluated by the Conference Planning Committee. Preference will be given to abstracts that focus on innovative, practical and proven technologies and methods and those that include the involvement of an owner or operator of a dam or hydropower project.

Abstracts that describe the focus and content of proposed papers (maximum of 4,000 characters) are due by Oct. 27, 2021, and the submitter will be notified via e-mail no later than Jan. 31, 2022, as to whether or not their paper has been selected. The presenting author for all selected abstracts will then be invited to make either a technical paper presentation or poster gallery presentation at HYDROVISION International 2022.

All presented technical papers will be made available to conference delegates through the online access to papers and presentations program.

In addition, we have issued a call for speakers for the panel presentation sessions.

Panel presentations will be made in most of the conference tracks: civil works and dam safety, energy storage, market trends and asset strategies, new development, operations and maintenance, policies and regulations, and water and environment. Panel presentations are intended to be informal in nature, involving a moderator-driven panel discussion that also addresses questions from the audience.

If you feel you have the expertise to speak on a particular subject, make sure you share those details with us so.
