Two law firms that work in hydropower recognized on Law Firm of the Year list

U.S. News & World Report recently released its 2020 Edition of Best Law Firms, and two firms that work in hydropower are on the list.

Troutman Sanders was recognized as the leader in energy law. Troutman Sanders was founded in 1897 and has 650 attorneys organized into 17 areas of legal practice within five departments: corporate, real estate and finance, business litigation, specialized litigation, and energy and regulatory.

The firm recently served as legal counsel to I Squared Capital during its sale of Cube Hydro Partners and Helix Partners to Ontario Power Generation.

In addition, Van Ness Feldman was recognized for natural resources law. Van Ness Feldman has been established for more than 40 years and employs more than 100 professionals, focused on “solving challenges that arise at the intersection of business and government.”

U.S. News & World Report says these designations are based on law firms’ overall performance in a given practice area and represent a significant showing in the research process.
