Firms sought by U.S. to supply inverters to 255-MW Davis hydro project

The Bureau of Reclamation seeks information on firms capable of supplying inverters for the 255-MW Davis Dam hydroelectric project on the Colorado River. Responses are due Feb. 15.

The agency has been performing modernization work for several years at Davis in Arizona, 2,078.8-MW Hoover Dam in Arizona and Nevada, and 120-MW Parker Dam in California. In 2010, it took bids for replacement of turbine seal rings at the three Colorado River projects.

For purposes of determining a procurement strategy, Reclamation now seeks information on firms able to supply, deliver, and commission inverters that will back up critical life-safety, security, and information technology loads at 120/240 volts.

A sources sought notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering Solicitation No. 13-011LC in the “Keyword/Solicitation #” box.
