Mavel supplies Czech Republic’s 2.65-MW Lovosice-Pistany 1

Mavel a.s. of the Czech Republic announced it received notice to proceed with supply of four 662-kW turbines and related equipment for the 2.65-MW Lovosice-Pistany 1 hydroelectric project in the Czech Republic.

Lovosice-Pistany 1, on the Elbe River in Litomerice District, is owned by RenoEnergie a.s. It has a nominal net head of 1.9 meters and total flow of 160 cubic meters per second.

Mavel signed the equipment contract in April 2008 when engineering work began. The project is expected to be commissioned in late 2010.

Mavel said June 4, 2009, that it is to supply four horizontal Kaplan double-regulated PIT turbines with runner diameters of 3,000 millimeters and three blades. It also is to supply the gearbox; generator; hydraulic, lubrication, and cooling system; cleaning machine; trashrack, and electrical and control systems for each generating unit.
