Austria developer sets conference on 300-MW Molin Pumped-Storage

MOLIN, Austria 4/27/12 (PennWell) — Austria developer Energiespeicher Bernegger GmbH invites potential contractors to a technical conference to discuss its plans to develop the 300-MW Molin Pumped-Storage project in Molin. Responses are due May 11.

Energiespeicher Bernegger plans a closed-loop pumped-storage project including an underground upper reservoir, expected to cost about 350 million euros (US$462.7 million).

The developer is organizing a technical dialogue with companies interested in supply, installation, and commissioning of generating equipment for Molin. Rather than a procurement procedure, Energiespeicher Bernegger said it seeks an information exchange concerning technical solutions.

Companies interested in participating are invited to send an e-mail to the address below by May 11. For information, contact Rene Mayer, Alexander Strehn, Energiespeicher Bernegger GmbH, Gradau 15, MSW Rechtsanwalte, 4591 Molin, Austria; E-mail:
