Bidding extended to build 5.2-MW Steti in Czech Republic

Developer Energeia o.p.s. has extended the deadline for bids to build the 5.2-MW Steti hydroelectric project on the Elbe River in the Czech Republic. Bids now are due January 2, 2011.

Energeia previously called for bids by November 30 to build the Steti project on an existing weir on the lower Elbe. The project is to include two tubular Kaplan turbines of 5.1 meters in diameter for an average annual generation of 31.5 gigawatt-hours.

The work is valued at 750 million koruny (US$42 million).

The deadline for obtaining solicitation documents also was extended until 11:59 p.m. December 20. Documents may be obtained from the address below for 10,000 koruny (US$560). Bids, in Czech, now are due by 10 a.m. January 2.
