Corps renews switchgear tendering for three Ozarks hydro projects

The Corps of Engineers’ Little Rock District has renewed tendering to replace switchgear and other equipment at three hydroelectric projects in the Ozark Mountains of Missouri and Arkansas. Bids now are expected to be due Nov. 30, 2009.

Bids previously were due July 17. (HydroWorld 7/13/09) In a new pre-solicitation notice, the Corps said a solicitation is expected to be issued about Oct. 29 for the three projects, 200-MW Table Rock on the White River in Missouri, 340-MW Bull Shoals on the White River in Arkansas, and 90-MW Norfork on the North Fork River in Arkansas.

The agency seeks bids to replace switchgear, switchboards, lighting contactors, control cabinets, motor control centers, associated controls, feeders, and conduits at the three projects. The work is valued at between $5 million and $10 million.
