Corps to reissue call for crane rehab at 558-MW Bonneville Second

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers plans to reissue again a call for bids to rehabilitate an intake gantry crane at the 558-MW Second Powerhouse of 1,076.6-MW Bonneville Dam, on the Columbia River in Oregon.

The Corps’ Portland District said it expects to reissue the solicitation about May 15, with bids to be due 30 to 45 days later. It previously called for bids Aug. 24 and June 28, 2010.

The intake gantry crane rehabilitation is to include the main and auxiliary hoist systems, with replacement of all electrical and mechanical equipment including motors and controls. A new operator cab and a new electrical equipment enclosure are to be installed. The work is valued at between $1 million and $5 million.
