Czech developer again seeks construction of 750-kW Velky Osek

Czech developer MVE Velky Osek s.r.o. again seeks bids to build a powerhouse for the 750-kW Velky Osek hydropower project in the Czech Republic. Bid documents must be obtained by January 7, with bids due January 14, 2011.

MVE Velky Osek previously called for bids by July 7, 2010; March 26, 2010; February 10, 2010; July 17, 2009; and November 14, 2008, for construction of a powerhouse and switchyard at the existing Velky Osek weir and lock. The structure eventually is to house three 250-kW Kaplan turbine-generators.

The developer reduced the estimated maximum cost of the project to 150 million koruny (US$7.8 million). It had previously increased the estimated cost of the work to 170 million koruny (US$8 million) from 100 million koruny (US$5.16 million) and from 95 million koruny (US$4.8 million).

The work now is to be performed between February 2011 and August 2012.
