Czech developer seeks bids to build 4.59-MW Libechov

PRAGUE, Czech Republic 9/13/11 (PennWell) — Developer Mercator Energy a.s. seeks bids to construct the 4.59-MW Libechov hydroelectric project on the Elbe River in the Czech Republic. Bids are due October 25.

Mercator took bids in July to equip Libechov, which it is developing at an existing weir on the lower Elbe. The project is to feature a single Kaplan turbine-generator.

In its latest solicitation, Mercator seeks bids for complete fabrication of the power plant, phase 1, on the right bank of the weir at Dolni Berkovice. The work has an estimated value of 190 million koruny (US$10.6 million). It is to be completed in May 2013.

Solicitation documents may be obtained from the address below for 200 koruny (US$11.50), plus 100 koruny (US$5.75) for delivery. Bids, in Czech, are due by 11 a.m. October 25.
