Czech firm seeks turbine refurbishment at 1.12-MW Tri Chaloupky

PRAGUE, Czech Republic 9/12/11 (PennWell) — Czech trading and electricity company Predax Finance s.r.o. seeks bids to reconstruct the turbine of the 1.12-MW Tri Chaloupky hydroelectric project on the Elbe River in the Czech Republic. Bids are due October 12.

The Predax solicitation is one of several in the past year by various companies for rehabilitation of small hydropower projects on the Elbe. Tri Chaloupky, which was built in 1948, features a single vertical Kaplan turbine.

Predax seeks bids to dismantle the turbine, manufacture a new runner, and repair or replace turbine parts. A new generator is to be purchased in a separate solicitation.

Valued at 38 million koruny (US$2.25 million), the turbine work is to be performed between June and December 2012.

Solicitation documents may be obtained until 2 p.m. October 5 from the address below.
