Equipment overhaul sought for Swiss 4.5-MW Charmey

Swiss utility Gruyere Energie SA seeks bids to refurbish generating units at the 4.5-MW Charmey hydroelectric project on Switzerland’s Jogne River. Bids are due June 24.

Gruyere Energie produces nearly 12 percent of its electricity from Charmey, which was built in 1893 and relocated in 1957.

The utility seeks bids to renovate and automate three generating units in three lots: Lot 1 turbines; Lot 2 generators; Lot 3 control group, automation, and pipe work.

Tender documents may be obtained from the address below. Questions may be submitted in writing through May 20. Bids, in French, are due by 11:30 a.m. June 24 in sealed envelope labeled “Projet RUCH – revision turbines-alternateurs. Do not open.”
