High-pressure gate modification needed at Pinto Dam in U.S.

The Bureau of Reclamation seeks bids for a high-pressure gate modification project at Pinto Dam, part of the Columbia Basin Project in Washington. Bids are due March 3, 2010.

With stimulus package funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, Reclamation’s Pacific Northwest Region seeks a contractor to furnish and install a new bulkhead gate and guides to be installed underwater. (HydroWorld 1/6/10)

A new steel and stainless steel high-pressure gate leaf is to be fabricated to replace the existing gate leaf. The contractor also is to supply and install a replacement hydraulic control system. The cost of the work is estimated at between $500,000 and $1 million.

A solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering Solicitation No. R10PS10R19 in the “Keyword/Solicitation #” box. Prospective bidders must register at the Central Contractor Registration database, www.ccr.gov.
