Hungary firm extends bidding for turbine work at 28-MW Kiskore

TISZALOK, Hungary 12/29/11 (PennWell) — Hungary hydro operator Tiszaviz Vizeromu KFT has extended the deadline for bids to perform work on hydropower turbine parts at the 28-MW Kiskore hydroelectric project in Hungary. Bids now are due January 26, 2012.

Tiszaviz Vizeromu previously called for bids by January 16. The utility contracted Voith Siemens’ Austria unit and Siemens RT of Hungary in 2002 to refurbish Kiskore, which originally was commissioned in 1974 on the Tisza River. The plant’s four 7-MW bulb turbines were upgraded from 2003-2006

The hydro operator now seeks firms to perform turbine impeller ring manufacturing with welding. Tiszaviz Vizeromu extended the deadline for completion to October 2012 from August 2012.

Tender documents may be obtained from the address below for 50,000 forints (US$213). Bids are due by 2 p.m. January 26.
