Nicaragua seeks studies of 20 small hydropower sites

Nicaragua’s Ministerio de Energia y Minas invites expressions of interest to perform pre-feasibility studies of 20 small hydropower sites in Nicaragua’s Central and Atlantic regions. Responses are due November 12.

In the current solicitation, funded by the United Nations Program for Development, the mines and energy ministry seeks firms to study 20 hydropower sites ranging from 200 kW to 1 MW. The sites are part of a program to provide electricity to areas that are isolated from Nicaragua’s central electricity grid.
