Polish firm seeks modernization of 156-MW Zydowo

Engineering consultant Energoprojekt-Warszawa S.A. seeks bids for supply, installation, and documentation of an extensive list of equipment for modernization of the 156-MW Zydowo pumped-storage project on Poland’s Radew River. Bids are due February 2, 2010.

Energoprojekt-Warszawa won a contract in 2008 from project owner Energa Elektrownie Straszyn Sp. z o.o. to manage modernization of Zydowo, which features two conventional turbine-generators and one pump-turbine-generator, built in 1971.

The firm seeks bids for replacement or repair of valves, turbines, and other equipment, including installation of new equipment supplied by CKD Blansko Holding of the Czech Republic. The value of the work is estimated at 21.6 million zlotych (US$7.6 million).

Solicitation documents, in Polish, may be obtained from the address below until 4 p.m. February 1. Bids are due by 10 a.m. February 2.
