Privatization consultant sought for Albania hydro plants

A unit of the World Bank invites expressions of interest from consultants to help implement the privatization of five hydroelectric plants in Albania. Responses are due January 24.

The World Bank‘s International Finance Corp. (IFC) was approached by the government of Albania to act as lead transaction adviser for privatization of the five hydro plants, which total 81.7 MW. IFC seeks the consultant to help it structure and implement the privatization program.

The consultant is to perform legal due diligence of the transactions, help prepare an optimal structure for implementing transactions, prepare pre-qualification and tender documents, help conduct negotiations with investors, and assist in final closure of transactions.

Expressions of interest and qualifications, in English, are to be submitted by January 24 via the World Bank Group’s eConsultant2 Internet site below. A short-list of qualified firms is to be invited to submit proposals.
