Solicitation reissued to build 750-kW Velky Osek in Czech Republic

Czech developer MVE Velky Osek s.r.o. again reissued a solicitation to build a powerhouse for the 750-kW Velky Osek hydropower project in the Czech Republic. Bid documents must be obtained by June 25, with bids due July 7.

MVE Velky Osek previously called for bids by March 26, 2010; February 10, 2010; July 17, 2009; and November 14, 2008, for construction of a powerhouse and switchyard at the existing Velky Osek weir and lock. (HydroWorld 3/5/10) The structure eventually is to house three 250-kW Kaplan turbine-generators.

The developer maintained the estimated maximum cost of the project at 170 million koruny (US$8 million). It had previously increased the estimated cost of the work from 100 million koruny (US$5.16 million) and from 95 million koruny (US$4.8 million).

The work now is to be performed between August 2010 and December 2011.

Tender documents, in Czech, are available from the address below until 2 p.m. June 25. Bids, in Czech, are due by 2 p.m. July 7.
