Station service rehab sought by U.S. for 517.8-MW Garrison

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks bids for rehabilitation of station service at the 517.8-MW Garrison Dam project on the Missouri River in Garrison, N.D. Bids are due July 8.

The Corps awarded a contract in April to IES Commercial Inc. for replacement transformers and site modifications at Garrison. (HydroWorld 4/7/10) The Corps’ Omaha District hired L&S Electric in 2007 to retrofit governors at the hydroelectric project. (HydroWorld 3/10/10)

Valued at between $2.5 million and $5 million, the current work involves removal and replacement of station service equipment including breakers and current limiting reactor, station service transformers, station service switchgear buses, and motor control centers.

A solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering solicitation No. W9128F10R0036 in the “Keyword/Solicitation #” box. Prospective bidders must register at the Central Contractor Registration database, www.ccr.gov, and the On-line Representations and Certifications site, https://orca.bpn.gov.
