Tainter gate hardware sought by U.S. for Millwood Dam

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks bids to supply tainter gate hardware at Millwood Dam on the Little River in Arkansas. Bids are due July 19.

The Corps’ Little Rock District sought information in March from small businesses capable of tainter gate repairs at 90-MW Norfork Dam on the North Fork River in Arkansas.

Built in 1966, Millwood Dam provides flood control, water supply, recreation, and fish and wildlife improvement.

The Little Rock District seeks bids from small businesses to replace tainter gate hoisting cable U-bolt connections with new hitchblock assemblies for 10 tainter gates. The work is valued at between $100,000 and $500,000.

A solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering solicitation No. W9127S11R0011 in the “Keyword/Solicitation #” box.
