The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has extended the proposed schedule for bidding to replace switchgear and other electrical equipment at the 96-MW Greers Ferry and 112-MW Beaver hydroelectric projects in Arkansas. The Corps also plans to seek tainter gate rehabilitation at Greers Ferry.
The Corps’ Little Rock District now says it expects to issue a solicitation in May to replace switchgear and other electrical equipment, with bids to be due about June 27. It previously expected to issue the solicitation in April with bids due about June 2.
The work is to be a 100 percent set-aside for service-disabled veteran-owned businesses. The agency requested information in January on small businesses capable of performing the work.
The Corps seeks to replace switchgear, switchboard, and associated lighting contactors, control cabinets, motor centers, associated controls, feeders, and conduits at Greers Ferry on the Little Red River and Beaver on the White River. The work is valued at $1 million to $5 million.
