U.S. prepares switchgear tender for 96-MW Greers Ferry, 112-MW Beaver

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers plans to take bids to replace switchgear and other electrical equipment at the 96-MW Greers Ferry and 112-MW Beaver hydroelectric projects in Arkansas.

The Corps’ Little Rock District said it expects to issue a solicitation in April with bids to be due about June 2.

The work is to be a 100 percent set-aside for service-disabled veteran-owned businesses. The agency requested information in January on small businesses capable of performing the work.

The Corps seeks to replace switchgear, switchboard, and associated lighting contactors, control cabinets, motor centers, associated controls, feeders, and conduits at Greers Ferry on the Little Red River and Beaver on the White River. The work is valued at $1 million to $5 million.

A sources sought notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering Solicitation No. W9127S11R0006 in the “Keyword/Solicitation #” box. A site visit is planned.

Responses are expected to be due about June 2. For information, contact Laura A. Dodson, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers District, Little Rock, 700 W. Capitol, Little Rock, AR 72201; (1) 501-324-5721; E-mail: laura.a.dodson@usace.army.mil.
