U.S. reissues call for new gearboxes at 810-MW Lower Monumental

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has reissued a request for bids to supply new lock gate gearboxes for the 810-MW Lower Monumental project on the Lower Snake River in Washington. Bids are due Oct. 19.

The Corps canceled an earlier solicitation for bids by Sept. 22. The solicitations are among several by the Corps’ Walla Walla District for Lower Monumental.

The Corps seeks fabrication and delivery of an unspecified number of lock gearboxes to Lower Monumental. The units are to be of the parallel shaft type, floor mounted, entirely enclosed in welded steel housing designed to maintain accurate alignment of all shafting and gearing.

A solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering No. W912EF11Q0001 in the “Keyword/Solicitation #” box. Prospective contractors must register in the government’s Central Contractor Registration database, www.ccr.gov.

Bids are due Oct. 19. For information, contact Valerie Reller, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District, 201 N. Third Ave., Walla Walla, WA 99362-1876; (1) 509-527-7215; E-mail: valerie.k.reller@usace.army.mil.
