U.S. seeks firms for tainter gate repair at 90-MW Norfork

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks information from small businesses capable of tainter gate repairs at 90-MW Norfork Dam on the North Fork River in Arkansas. Responses are due March 16.

The Corps took bids in 2009 for replacement of switchgear and other equipment at Norfork and at 200-MW Table Rock on the White River in Missouri and 340-MW Bull Shoals on the White River in Arkansas.

The Corps’ Little Rock District now has issued a sources sought notice seeking information on small firms with the ability to reinforce fracture critical tainter gate girder flange splice welds. It seeks firms that have performed similar work in a range of $500,000 to $1 million.

The sources sought notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering solicitation No. W9127S11R0012 in the “Keyword/Solicitation #” box.
