U.S. seeks firms to replace spillway gate chains at 90-MW Norfork

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks information from small businesses capable of replacing spillway tainter gate chains at 90-MW Norfork Dam on the North Fork River in Arkansas. Responses are due Nov. 2.

The Corps requested similar information in March from small businesses capable of tainter gate repairs at Norfork.

The Corps’ Little Rock District now has issued a sources sought notice seeking information on small firms with the ability to rehabilitate 24 spillway tainter gate hoists that operate 12 gates. The contractor is to design a new wire rope hoist system to replace existing hoist chains. The work is valued at between $1 million and $5 million.

The sources sought notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering solicitation No. W9127S12R0004 in the “Keyword/Solicitation #” box.
