WALLA WALLA, Wash., U.S. 3/16/12 (PennWell) — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks information about firms capable of refurbishing navigation lock upstream stoplogs at 980-MW McNary Dam on the Columbia River. Responses are due March 28.
The Corps’ Walla Walla District took bids in February for submersible power cable for extended submerged barrier screens at McNary and also sought information about firms capable of performing welding repairs on emergency intake gate bulkheads.
The Corps now seeks information on firms capable of repairing and upgrading six navigation lock upstream stoplogs. The 65,000-pound stoplogs are to be strengthened by addition of gusset plates and bracing. The agency wants to determine the interest and capability of qualified small businesses to perform the work.
