U.S. to seek switchgear for 96-MW Greers Ferry, 112-MW Beaver

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks information on firms capable of replacing switchgear and other electrical equipment at the 96-MW Greers Ferry and 112-MW Beaver hydroelectric projects in Arkansas. Responses are due Jan. 4, 2011.

The Corps’ Little Rock District seeks information to identify small businesses, HubZone small businesses, and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned small businesses with the ability to perform the work on Greers Ferry on the Little Red River and Beaver on the White River. The Corps recently awarded a $1.7 million contract to Nicholson Construction Co. to construct a grout curtain at Beaver’s Dike 3.

The Corps seeks capability statements to replace switchgear, switchboard, and associated lighting contactors, control cabinets, motor centers, associated controls, feeders, and conduits at the two hydroelectric projects.
