Afghanistan’s National Area Based Development Program (NABDP) invites expressions of interest to perform a technical feasibility study and design of Qadis Khordak Dam in Afghanistan’s Badghis Province. Responses are due November 13.
Afghanistan’s electricity authority previously called for bids in November for construction of the 500-kW Baharak and 500-kW Topchi small hydro projects. The utility also recruited consultants for rehabilitation of the 100-MW Naghlu hydroelectric project while a hydro-mechanical engineer was sought to refurbish and expand the 2.4-MW Gereshk hydroelectric project.
With Water Supply and Irrigation funding from Spain, NABDP now seeks a technical feasibility study and design of the Qadis Khordak water storage dam, Contract No. MRRD/6281WATSIP 232 SPANISH/36/CC/BDS/92. Spain has provided US$24.8 million under NABDP for various Afghan programs, including supply of drinking water, micro-hydropower projects, irrigation, transportation, protection and retaining walls, and oil distribution.
NABDP seeks a project team including a geo-technical engineer, hydraulics engineer, civil-structural engineer, economist, river morphologist, hydro-geologist, senior survey engineer, environmental specialist, and mechanical engineer.
A request for expressions of interest may be obtained from the address below. Expressions of interest are due by 2 p.m. November 13 to the address below, labeled “Expression of Interest for Technical Feasibility Study and Design of Qadis Khordak Water Storage Dam Project in Badghis Province.”
