Afghanistan national utility Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) has extended the deadline for expressions of interest from consultants to provide operations and maintenance training for staff of the 100-MW Naghlu hydroelectric project, which is being rehabilitated on Afghanistan’s Kabul River. Responses now are due October 1.
DABS previously called for responses by September 15. It also seeks bids by October 4 to supply poles, conductors, distribution transformers and cables for electrification of Sarobi around the Naghlu hydro plant.
Since 2006, the World Bank has been financing the rehabilitation of electrical and electro-mechanical parts of the Naghlu project, which was built with help from the Soviet Union in the 1960s. DABS recruited consultants in June to serve on a dam safety and generation optimization advisory panel for Naghlu rehabilitation. In April, it sought consultants to serve on the dam safety advisory panel as well as an environmental and social advisory panel for Naghlu.
DABS now invites expressions of interest and qualifications by October 1 from training consulting firms and institutes to provide operations and maintenance training for Naghlu personnel. Responses of no more than 10 pages must be submitted to CFO Ahmad Shah Sahil at the address below.
The utility also seeks bids by October 4 for the supply of poles, conductors, distribution transformers, cable and related equipment for electrification of Sarobi in the project area. Tender documents, in English, may be obtained upon written application to the address below. Bids are to be submitted to the address below.
