Armenia firm wins contract to study new reservoirs

Consultant Hayjrnakhagits Institute CJSC of Armenia has received a contract to perform a survey of technical and economic justification for construction of new irrigation reservoirs in Armenia.

Hayjrnakhagits was one of two bidders for the US$210,000 contract awarded by the Millennium Challenge Corp., an international development agency created by the United States.

The Yerevan-based consultant is to carry out technical investigations, environmental and social baseline data collection, and implementation of a feasibility study. It also is to assess economic efficiency and prepare terms of reference for final design. The work is to require seven months.
