Attend a free webinar on rehabilitation of penstocks and structures vs. replacement

Fibrwrap is hosting a free webinar, in conjunction with HydroWorld.com, on Tuesday, Dec. 2 at 12 pm central time.

The webinar, entitled Rehabilitation of Penstocks and Structures vs. Replacement, will review how to evaluate structural integrity and determine whether rehabilitation or replacement is best for the structures at your hydroelectric power plant. In addition, methods for increasing the structural integrity of floor slabs and beams will be addressed regarding how larger and heavy equipment can be installed for additional power generation, as well as seismic upgrades.

Hydropower plants provide a good portion of North America’s power, with many of these plants installed in the 1960s. As with all structures and assets, deterioration occurs with time, eventually leading to their replacement or rehabilitation. Of all the assets in a hydro facility, the structural integrity of the penstock(s) is of key concern, as well as looking for ways in which to increase power output.

Presenters during this webinar are:

* Rasko P. Ojdrovic, PhD, senior principal, Simpson Gumpertz & Heger

* Grant Thornley, North American sales and marketing, Fibrwrap

* Dave Caughlin, business development manager, power, NA Power

* Scott Newton, general manager, Mississippi River Power

If you miss this webinar or the date doesn’t work for you, there will be a second air date of Thursday, Dec. 4.
