Austria railway seeks hydro turbine overhauls at Lassach hydro project

Austrian railway company Oesterreichische Bundesbahnen (OBB) seeks bids for hydro turbine overhauls at its Lassach hydroelectric project on Austria’s Mallnitzbach Stream. Bids are due December 2.

OBB operates seven hydroelectric projects to help power its railway system. In 2008 it awarded a contract to Voith Siemens Hydro Power Generation for replacement turbine runners for its Obervellach and Enzingerboden projects.

OBB-Infrastruktur Aktiengesellschaft now seeks bids for turbine overhauls of M51-M54 at Lassach, a run-of-river plant built in 1905. The rehabilitation and repair work is to be performed from March 2014-July 2016.
