Bank reissues call for consultant to Laos hydro development working group

The World Bank’s International Finance Corp. (IFC) has reissued a call for expressions of interest from consultants to facilitate a Hydropower Developers Working Group in Laos. Responses are due April 29.

IFC previously invited consultants for the work to respond by December 3, 2012. In February, the government recruited consultants to perform sub-basin modeling for reservoir management and hydropower development planning.

IFC plans to establish a Hydropower Developers Working Group to work with hydropower companies operating in Laos by providing specialized training and supporting knowledge exchange among hydro developers on international best environmental and social standards practices.

The World Bank affiliate seeks a consultant to work closely with the Lao Business Forum to facilitate the working group. The consultant is to have a master’s degree in relevant disciplines and at least five years’ experience.

Expressions of interest are due April 29, in English, electronically via the World Bank’s eConsult Internet site, https://wbgeconsult2.worldbank.org/wbgec/index.html. A solicitation notice is available on the website under Business Opportunities, Selection No. 1101355.
