Bank seeks consultant for Russia small hydropower study

The World Bank invites expressions of interest from consultants to assess the technical and economic potential of developing small hydropower in Russia’s Nizhny Novgorod region. Responses are due December 11.

The bank seeks consultants under the Russia Renewable Energy Program to assess potential for developing or rehabilitating small hydropower projects in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, a region east of Moscow in western Russia.

The selected consulting firm also is to identify the most promising site for further development and is to recommend additional studies to exploit hydropower in the region, whose capital, Nizhny Novgorod, is located at the confluence of the Volga and Oka rivers.

Expressions of interest are due December 11, in English, electronically via the World Bank’s eConsult Internet site, https://wbgeconsult2.worldbank.org/wbgec/index.html. A solicitation notice is available on the website under Business Opportunities, Selection No. 1091646.
