Bank seeks dam safety consulting firm for Brazil water agency

The World Bank invites expressions of interest from dam safety consulting firms to assist Brazil’s national water agency, Agencia Nacional de Aguas (ANA). Responses are due August 30.

ANA recently was entrusted with regulating dam safety in Brazil. It requested assistance from the World Bank, which has experience in dam safety programs worldwide.

The bank seeks a firm to help ANA develop and review norms, standards, regulations, guidelines, and manuals including a strategy for small dams. Other work is to include design and performance of monitoring, evaluation, and reporting dam safety activities and design of a national dam safety information system.

The consulting firm also is to help strengthen the capacity of ANA and other agencies in dam safety management.
