Basler Electric offers new guide for hydroelectric generator protection

Hydropower generator technology manufacturer Basler Electric has released a revised version of its “Generator Protection Application Guide”, which is available via free download from the company’s website.

Basler Electric said it developed the guide to “simplify the process of selecting relays and relay systems to protect generators.”

Basler Electric used minimal protection as a baseline, then added additional protection for critical and complex applications. Each protective element is then described and “related to protecting against a variety of external or internal faults, or abnormal conditions,” giving users a better understanding of their role within the generator protection system.

The Illinois-based company has locations throughout the United States, Mexico, China, Singapore and France, which offer power system protection, control products and custom transformers.

More information about Basler Electric’s line of products and its “Generator Protection Application Guide” are available online at the company’s website, via email, or by calling (618) 654-2341.

Basler Electric will be exhibiting at HydroVision International 2013 in Booth No. 709. HydroVision International 2013 runs July 23-26 at Denver’s Colorado Convention Center.
