BC Hydro seeks climate, hydrometric monitoring in British Columbia

Canadian utility BC Hydro seeks bids to service 108 climate, snow, and hydrometric stations across British Columbia. Bids are due June 19.

The utility called for bids in March to supply surface air coolers for the 804-MW Seven Mile hydroelectric project and to perform site preparation for the proposed 1,100-MW Peace River Site C hydroelectric project.

BC Hydro now seeks bids to provide scheduled and unscheduled services to 108 climate, snow and hydrometric stations operated by the utility as well as potential new stations in BC Hydro’s four operating regions: Vancouver Island; South and North Coast, Bridge River; Columbia River; and Williston and Site C.

Work is to include scheduled and unscheduled sampling, servicing and maintenance, equipment supply, construction and other work as required for existing and future stations.
