Belgium utility seeks turbine-generator replacements at 9.15-MW Andenne hydro project

Belgium utility EDF Luminus nv seeks bids for replacement of two turbine-generator units at the 9.15-MW Andenne hydroelectric project on Belgium’s Meuse River. Bids are due May 8.

EDF Luminus is a subsidiary of France’s EDF group that changed its name in 2011 from SPE N.V. It operates seven low-head hydroelectric projects totaling 92.85 MW. Six are on the Meuse River, Andenne, 22-MW Lixhe, 9.9-MW Ivoz-Ramet, 18-MW Monsin, 10-MW Ampsin-Neuville, and 5-MW Grand-Malades. The seventh, 800-kW Floriffoux, is on the Sambre River.

Luminus seeks bids to deliver and install replacements for two of Andenne’s three horizontal-axis Straflo units, with an option to replace the third. Work is to include design, supply, installation, and commissioning of the whole electro-mechanical package with anchoring parts, governor, generator with excitation cabinet and cooling, lube oil system, instrumentation, and control cabinet.
