Belgium utility seeks civil engineering for hydro plant

BRUSSELS, Belgium 12/14/11 (PennWell) — Belgium utility EDF Luminus nv seeks bids for civil engineering for a hydroelectric plant in Belgium. Bids are due December 26.

EDF Luminus is a subsidiary of France’s EDF group that changed its name in November from SPE N.V. It operates seven low-head hydroelectric projects totaling 65 MW. Six are on the Meuse River, 22-MW Lixhe, Ivoz-Ramet, Monsin, Ampsin-Neuville, Andenne, and Grand-Malades. The seventh, Floriffoux, is on the Sambre River.

Luminus seeks civil engineering studies and follow-up of construction phase for work related to upgrade of an unnamed hydropower plant. The type of work includes architectural services, engineering services, urban planning and landscape engineering, related scientific and technical consulting services, and technical testing and analysis services.

Tender documents may be obtained from the address below until December 20. Bids, in English, French, or Dutch, are due December 26 to the address below.
