BHEL seeks subcontractor for India’s 15-MW Canal Head

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL) called for bids by July 3 for civil and hydro-mechanical works at the 15-MW Canal Head powerhouse on the Left Bank Canal of the 1,000-MW Indira Sagar hydroelectric project. Bid documents must be obtained by July 1.

BHEL is building the three-unit project for Narmada Valley Development Co. Work is to be completed in 13 months in Khandwa District of Madhya Pradesh State.

Bid documents may be obtained from the address below by July 1 for 5,000 rupees (US$112), plus 1,000 rupees (US$22) for delivery by post, by cash or demand draft to BHEL at Bhopal. The documents also may be obtained from the BHEL Internet site, www.bhelbpl.co.in, with the document fee submitted with the bid.

Although the tender is designated a two-part bid, only the techno-commercial bid is to be submitted by the July 3 deadline. Qualified bidders will be eligible to participate in price bidding through a reverse auction process.
