Brazil courts consultants for giant water program

Brazil’s national government and the governments of several individual states plan to seek expressions of interest from consultants to participate in a giant Federal Water Resources Management Project.

Work is to include development of a national water resources management system; infrastructure to supply communities; planning, studies, and project design at state and river basin levels to balance water demand and availability; creation of a Sao Francisco River Basin Committee; and project oversight, management, monitoring, and evaluation.

Consultants who wish to receive copies of eventual notices seeking expressions of interest should contact the Agencia Nacional de Aguas or officials of the individual states. States include Alagoas, Bahia, Paraiba, and Sergipe.
