Brazil state seeks river basins resource study

Brazil’s Tocantins State seeks expressions of interest from consultants to help develop the Tocantins State Water Resources of River Basins Plan. Responses are due August 15.

The state received funding from the World Bank for a regional sustainable development program that it plans to use for the river basins plan.

Work is to include: physical-biotic, social, economic, and water-availability diagnostics; development and analysis of water demands scenarios; proposal of alternatives to make demand and availability of water compatible; proposal of action plans for water resources; and development of a river basin committee or water resources civil associations.
