Brazil state seeks water resources planning

Brazil’s Piaui State invites expressions of interest from consultants to prepare a water resources master plan for the state. Responses are due November 26.

Piaui seeks assistance under a Federal Water Resources Management Project (PROAGUA) that has received financing from the World Bank.

The main objective of the work is preparation of a master plan that provides technical orientations and political and institutional strategies necessary to improve Piaui’s water resources management.

The work, for Piaui’s environment and water resources secretary, Secretaria do Meio Ambiente e Recursos Hidricos, is to take 18 months. It includes assessment of the current situation and the drafting of plans and programs to establish criteria for actions in the state’s river basins.
